Lord, what wilt thou have me to do-A personal story
This is a subtitle for your new post

Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?
A personal story
4And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?5And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.6And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. Acts 9:4-6
“Who art thou, Lord?”. Jesus is our Lord God. It is not that easy for a Jew to recognize that Jesus is the lord in the light of the following verse: Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:”
Someone ask me “how did you receive Jesus as your Lord, God, and savior?”. I am far from being like Paul. I grew up as a jew in Israel and still feel much connected to the Jewish nation, history, and the state of Israel. From the time I heard about the gospel of my salvation and about the dispensation of Grace (1979) I became: Philippians 3:3 “For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.”
I thank God that in 1979 I met people who could explain to me as Paul did:
Having therefore obtained the help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:23That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles. Acts 26:22:23.
Why the Lord Jesus and not someone else? I remember asking! So they explain to me from the beginning like the apostle Paul did:
Acts 13:22-23 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will.
Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
2 Timothy 2:8 - “Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:”
We are living in 2022 and when I am writing about Paul our apostle I can only thank God that at the right moment I met the right people with the right gospel of God's grace that the Lord from heaven gave to the apostle Paul. Some have to spend lifetime to find the truth. I had the privilege to start my life as a new creation with the truth. I heard about the dispensation of Grace in Ephesians 3:1-9. I knew how to worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.”
In 1979 I was not searching for a new religion. I wanted to know the God of the Bible. Romans 1:5
“By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:”
When someone with a Jewish background believes in the gospel of God's grace he learns like everyone what it means to obey God under the dispensation of Grace.
Why follow the apostle Paul? And not like everyone following the Lord Jesus according to the so-called 4 gospel?
My answer is simple. Soon after I received Christ as my Lord and savior I heard that we are living under the dispensation of God's grace. In the beginning, it was hard for me to accept:
13But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Eph 2:14-15
It started with the Nation Israel and became later the “Jews religion” Galatians 1:13 “For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion……
For hundreds of years, The Children of Israel heard that they are the chosen nation. Chosen for what? And now with the starting of the dispensation of Grace, they are partly blind
25For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: Romans 11:25-26
So we read that one day: all Israel shall be saved ! . In the meantime now all people are the same for God:
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Romans 3:21-26
Now after 40 years it is easy for me to write about it but In the beginning, I had to swim in a sea with very high waves and big sharks.
If God would only blind Israel it was easy to understand but history teaches us that from being the nation of Israel according to the Bible they became the Jew's religion and later suffered a lot of prosecutions. Mainly from the so-called “Christians”. And you can ask yourself why?
I was born in 1957 in Israel. My generation is called the second generation of holocaust survivors. My father was born in 1918 in Poland and will be this year 104. My mother came to Israel from Moldova in 1938. She died in 2000 in the age of 80. Both went through the second world war and lost a great part of their family.
It was not that easy for my parents when they heard in 1979 that I am now believing that Jesus is my Lord. It was not easy for them when I told them that my future wife is not Jewish.
Why I am telling you this? Maybe because it is important to understand the story behind the man!
According to the word of God: Israel, as a nation is under blindness, see Romans 11:25-26. Jews and Gentiles are the same for God and if they believe, there is one spirit Who will baptize them into the same church. The body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:13.
It all started with the apostle Paul. No! Paul is NOT our Lord. Jesus is our Lord. Paul is like Moses. The difference is . Moses received from God the Law and gave it to the nation Israel. Paul received the dispensation of grace for Jews and Gentiles in the same body.
It all started when Paul visited the synagogue and told them:
Acts 13:26 “Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.”
Acts 13:38-39 38 Be it known unto you, therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: 39And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
the word of this salvation is that now we have the forgiveness of sins through the blood of Christ.
So while God set Israel aside and started to build His Church. Not everyone accepted it. I mean in the period of the Roman empire and later the so-called “Christianity” Romans catholic, eastern orthodox churches, etc. Not everyone liked the “Jews religion” mainly because they did not accept Jesus as the Lord. While “Christianity” became a mix of religion and paganism. The “Jews religion” maintains its way of worshiping the God of the Bible.
According to the word of God, Jews rejected Christ a few times and at last was: Acts 7:51 “Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.”
When you read those words you do not realize that hundreds of years later. In 1940 someone will give the order to eliminate 6,000,000 Jews because he wanted to establish a third kingdom.
The Word of God teaches us in Romans 11:28 the following:
28As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.29For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. 30For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:31Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
When you read those words you understand that those who believed in Christ had to show the Children of Israel some mercy.
The suffering of the Jews in Europe in the last “2000 years” Is a long story. In 70 AD the temple was destroyed. In the Bible 70 AD is already the “dispensation of grace” During the Roman period, in AD 70, the Second Temple was destroyed, along with Jerusalem, by Titus' army. It was also during this period that Jesus was in Jerusalem. He was crucified about 40 years before the destruction of the city.
Another milestone in this history is the “The Bar Kokhba revolt” In 132, the revolt led by Bar Kokhba quickly spread from central Judea across the province, cutting off the Roman garrison in Aelia Capitolina (Jerusalem) - The revolt erupted as a result of religious and political tensions in Judea following on the failed First Revolt in 66–73 CE. The proximate reasons seem to be the construction of a new city, Aelia Capitolina, over the ruins of Jerusalem and the erection of a temple to Jupiter on the Temple Mount. The Church Fathers and rabbinic literature emphasize the role of Rufus, governor of Judea, in provoking the revolt.
The Bar Kokhba revolt greatly influenced the course of Jewish history and the philosophy of the Jewish religion. Despite easing the persecution of Jews following Hadrian's death in 138 CE, the Romans barred Jews from Jerusalem, except for attendance in Tisha B'Av. Jewish messianism was abstracted and spiritualized, and rabbinical political thought became deeply cautious and conservative. The Talmud, for instance, refers to Bar Kokhba as "Ben-Kusiba", a derogatory term meaning "son of deception", used to indicate that he was a false Messiah. It was also among the key events to differentiate Christianity as a religion distinct from Judaism. Although Jewish Christians regarded Jesus as the Messiah and did not support Bar Kokhba, they were barred from Jerusalem along with the other Jews.
I mention those things because it all happened during the dispensation of grace. Paul our apostle died somewhere around 65AD and the revelation concerning the dispensation of grace was fulfilled
Colossians 1:25 “Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God;
People like to say often “ all the problems in the world are because of religion” I cannot explain everything and I know that many like to blame the
God of the Bible for all the bad things in the world I like to close this personal story with one verse:
Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:9 “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”
to testify the gospel of the grace of God acts 20:24
