Rightly dividing the word of truth

All scripture is given by inspiration of God
Dov Avnon
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Tim 3:16
I like to write about the Bible rather than talking to the camera. Words can be powerful and stay longer with people. Nowadays People are not so interested in the Bible but never we still have to tell them about the Gospel of God’s grace (Acts 20:24). I believe that no matter the situation we should continue doing the work of ambassadors: 2 Corinthians 5:20 “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.”
Today I would like to talk about the holy scripture. Sometimes I follow some conversations on the internet. I read often people saying “show me scriptures” or “Let us compare scripture with scripture” like talking about Bible truth is a kind of video game. I do not like to argue or to convince anyone. Most of the things that I teach are online. Talking about biblical truth is not about who is agree with who. It is also not a gunfight.
So let see some truth from the word of God. The first thing is about how does the truth works. Of course it would be much better if people would receive the Words of Christ through Paul just like this.
1 Corinthians 2:13 “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
This verse is teaching to ask that it is not a gunfight between two people who compering scriptures. Two people are talking or arguing. The one heard about the dispensation of grace many years ago the other spend all his life in the Baptist church or he is a Muslim or jew whatever. comparing spiritual things with spiritual. This means that in order to understand the truth that Christ gave to Paul the person first need to have God's spirit. Why should I argue or try to have a gunfight with a member of the body of Christ who is following the Baptist teaching if he is not even searching for the truth?
Let's say I read with my Baptist brother a few times Romans 6:1-11 and showed him that there is no WATER in Romans 6. Does it mean that in the next minute he going to change his view? No.
This is why Paul said: Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, 16Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:18The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Eph 2:17
I believe that no one will receive the truth because of a gunfight. Sometimes people hear the truth somewhere and it takes some time till they are willing to accept it as truth from God with all the responsibility that will come after. I met many people who were first very happy when they first heard about the dispensation of grace but for a different reason after some years they left the teaching. Some will believe it but will not do any thing with it.
After we understand that communicating Bible truth is not a gunfight or a game with a winner, let's speak about the Scriptures.
What is Scripture or scriptures? Is it just verses or much more? Sometimes people will have an idea they will gather different Bible verses to support their beliefs, start a gunfight and ask the other person “Show me scriptures that I am wrong”. Satan, during the last 2000 years after Paul, knew to create all kinds of sophisticated false doctrines that not everyone can sit down and build defiance. I remember in the beginning of 1982 when I heard about the writhing of C.R.Stam and how I accepted the truth that he was teaching. Some that I know went the other direction E.W bulinger or Knoch universalism teaching. They all said to me you are not willing to search the scriptures. Till today when people starting to talk about dividing Paul's letters. I answer “no thank you not interesting” some of them are only after a good gunfight.
Let's see the scriptures in God's word
[15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2 tim 3:15
Timothy knew well the old testament. Someone who never heard about the Lord Jesus Christ (Jews, Muslims etc) needs to understand basic doctrines in the holy scriptures.
When Paul wanted to emphasize the source of his teaching he said:
1Cor.15 [3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; [4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Rom.16 [26] But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
There is a great difference between creating your theory and then building a wall of bible scriptures around or just using what the scriptures are teaching,
Paul and Apollos- a good sample of people who knew the scriptures and still with some differences.
Acts.18 [24] And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.[28] For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
When Paul teaches righteousness by faith which is our salvation. He just went back to the scriptures.
Rom.4[3] For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
When Paul wanted to show the saint that God accepts everyone because of faith. He just went back to the scripture
Rom.10 [11] For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
When Paul had to answer about the future of Israel he just went back to the scriptures:
Rom.11 [2] God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
I thank the Lord that in 1979 I met People who told me about the Lord Jesus Christ and the Gospel of Gods' grace (Acts 20:24- Eph. 3:1-9) Because of my Jewish background it was not that easy but I thank the Lord that I did not follow a man-made teaching but like Paul said:
Rom.1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, [2] (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
to testify the gospel of the grace of God acts 20:24
